Private business development and entrepreneurship often take a “back seat” in Tribal economic development strategic planning and implementation.  However, private businesses form the backbone of vibrant and robust free enterprise economies worldwide.

The focus of the Wisconsin Indian Business Conference 2008 (WIBC) is to offer an important forum to articulate “best practice” examples for sound Tribal legal and governmental systems that support and sustain private business development in Indian Country.

Fact:  79 % of all income generated for the Wisconsin Indian Business Conference in February was expended on Native American Owned Businesses.

Business owners, investors, lenders, and Wisconsin Tribal leaders will gather with national experts to discuss the development of commercial law, court systems, support systems, and policies needed to stimulate and sustain private business development and entrepreneurship in and around our Tribal communities.

The conclusion of the conference will mark the beginning of an important new initiative.  The Wisconsin Indian Business Alliance (WIBA) will be dedicated to motivating and supporting Indian business owners and entrepreneurs within their communities.

We hope you’ll join us!
